DEVOTIONAL THOUGHT
“Be still, and know that I am God…”
Psalm 46
Last LORDS Voice, I wrote about arriving at LORDS as a guest, taking time to listen, learn, and appreciate the story that God has already been writing in this community.Earlier this week, Pastor Mark shared Psalm 46 with me during a conversation. It was a timely reminder that, although life can feel busy and the world around us is constantly moving, God remains our refuge and our strength.
School life is full of activity. There is always another lesson, meeting, event, carnival, soiree, eisteddfod or assembly just around the corner. For the parents in our community too, the busyness of work, home, family and being the resident Uber driver for our children can seem never-ending. Yet, God gently invites us to pause.
"Be still, and know that I am God."
Not necessarily to do less, rather to remember who is in control. This has been a timely reminder for me in this last couple of weeks, as my family experienced the loss of someone very dear to us. I see it as about giving thanks for God's faithfulness, taking the time to look out the window at his outstanding creation from time to time, and finding confidence in His presence each day.
Prayer
Heavenly Father,
Thank You for being our refuge and strength. In the midst of busy days, help us to be still and remember that You are with us. Give us peace, wisdom, and grateful hearts as we continue to learn, serve, and grow together at LORDS.Amen.

- Thank you for providing for our needs and blessing us. We pray you would continue to keep us from harm and danger. Into your hands we commend ourselves, our school and all things.
