We are now seeking applications for a passionate, committed, and service-centred Junior School Band TA who has the necessary skills, energy, and talents to be part of a growing school.

Junior School Band Tutor Assistant

3+ hours per week

Commencing as soon as possible

The role will be as an assistant to the Band tutor in the teaching and guidance of Year 5 and 6 students in a classroom brass, woodwind, and percussion band setting including assisting with the following:

  • Teaching instrumental skills across a range of instruments
  • Coordinating sessions with the lead tutor
  • Developing and growing a program to engage students in Year 5 and 6
  • Preparing an end of semester showcase for parents
  • Promoting the program to younger grades through in-class performances
  • Future development of a concert band for Year 7 and above

There is an opportunity to teach individual lessons at LORDS to increase hours. These sessions are paid directly from the parents but supported by the school during regular school hours. The number of hours will be dependent on the tutor’s availability and ability to promote the band instruments within the school.

Relevant skills and experience

  • Conducting student bands
  • Working with children check (Blue Card)
  • Multi-instrumental teaching (brass a priority)
  • Graduate and/or Post-Graduate qualifications relevant to the position
