DEVOTIONAL THOUGHT
Learning With Heart
At LORDS, we often talk about the LORDS Way of Learning, which is about so much more than getting the right answer. It’s about who we’re becoming along the way.Learning well means being brave enough to step out, take risks, and try even when it’s hard. It means showing humility, knowing we don’t always have it all worked out and being open to hearing from others. And sometimes, it means saying, “I got that wrong” and being willing to forgive ourselves or others when mistakes are made.
In a school community like ours, these moments happen every day. A classmate says the wrong thing. We feel overwhelmed by a task. We get frustrated or impatient. But each moment is a chance, a chance to choose kindness, courage, and grace.
In Ephesians 4:32, we’re reminded:
“Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.”
So, in our lives, may we be brave in our learning, humble in our growing, and generous in our forgiving.
Prayer
Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank you for the gift of learning and growing.
Help us to be brave when things feel hard,
humble when we don’t know the way,
and forgiving when mistakes happen.
Teach us to learn with open hearts and minds and to always walk in your grace.
Amen.
