DEVOTIONAL THOUGHT
Learning and Serving with Humble Hearts
At LORDS, we believe that learning is more than gaining knowledge, it’s about growing in wisdom, love, and compassion.
As we learn, we also serve, and part of service is recognising that we come as guests into the lives and experiences of others.Coming as a guest means we arrive with humility, curiosity, and respect — ready to listen, to learn, and to walk alongside others, not to take over or assume we know best.
In Ephesians 4:2
“Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love.”
As we continue to learn and serve, may we remember that true strength lies in gentleness, and true leadership begins with listening.
Dear God,
Thank You for the gift of learning and the opportunities we have to serve others.
Help us to be humble guests — ready to listen, to learn, and to show love and respect in all we do.
Teach us to grow not just in knowledge, but also in kindness, patience, and understanding.
May our hearts be open and our hands be ready to serve, just as Jesus showed us.
Amen.
