DEVOTIONAL THOUGHT
“Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice!”
Philippians 4:4
Recently, I shared this verse with our staff and was reminded of the familiar hymn, This Is the Day, with its joyful words, “This is the day that the Lord has made, we will rejoice and be glad in it.”
There is certainly much to rejoice about at LORDS. The weather is beautiful, our end-of-year celebrations are approaching, and preparations for 2027 are well underway. Soon, we will welcome new students and families through our Prep and Year 7 Orientation programs. It is a wonderful time in the life of our school.
Paul's encouragement to rejoice reaches beyond the good times. Writing to the Philippians, he reminds us that our joy is found in the Lord, even when life presents challenges. Our circumstances may change, but God's love and faithfulness remain.
Joy also invites us to be grateful. To recognise the blessings we have received, appreciate the people around us, and give thanks for the opportunities before us. Even through difficult experiences, we can grow in faith and learn to see God's goodness at work.
As parents and educators, we have the privilege of helping our young people develop this understanding. We want them to approach life with grateful hearts, recognising God's blessings while also developing compassion for those whose circumstances may be very different from their own.
Prayer
Heavenly Father,
Thank You for the joy we find in You and for the many blessings in our lives. Help us to remain thankful through both the good times and the challenges we face. Open our hearts to the needs of others and guide us to share Your love through our words and actions.
Amen.

- This LORDS Voice, we will be praying for families in our community and their needs: Ciccia-Bradley, Cifuentes Quintero, Cluss, Cochrane, Cognet, Cole.
- We give thanks for the many blessings in our LORDS community as we approach the end of the year. Bless our students and families preparing for 2027, particularly those joining us for Prep and Year 7 Orientations.
- We pray for our Year 9 students and the six staff members participating in Street Retreat. May their experiences deepen their compassion and understanding. Bless the charities and service providers who care for people experiencing homelessness and those facing hardship in our community.
- Thank you for providing for our needs and blessing us. We pray you would continue to keep us from harm and danger. Into your hands we commend ourselves, our school, and all things.
